Music Monday

Oh. My. God. The Bloody Beetroots have stolen my heart! 2 weeks ago I heard their song "Awesome" and the rest is history. I love the dirty dirty electronesssss! Their music makes my shoulders dance and my toes curl - get on youtube and prepare to have an eargasm.
The Bloody Beetroots are an Italian electronica and dance music duo. Formed in late 2006 by producer Bobby Rifo, an international indie producer, and DJ Tommy Tea.

here is a review from Venus Zine...Among today’s indie album covers of abstracted wildlife and digitally created art, the Bloody Beetroots scream to be noticed. Staring at the rippling, menacing figure screaming at you over a rotting toilet on the cover of Romborama reminds you of the days when bands pulled these stunts to get picked up at Tower Records. The album isn’t monotonous and the beats are infectious. Romborama is utterly danceable; but, without teenage boys calling the cover “cool,” it’s tough to see this Italian duo jumping into the record collection of anyone not having a dance party or working out. Often compared to Justice, though touting his sound as the “lovechild of the Misfits and Daft Punk,” Italian Bob Rifo is the man in the studio behind the Bloody Beetroots. On tour, he’s accompanied by DJ Tommy Tea. The duo made a club and blog splash last year with their single “Cornelius” (which also appears on the album) and its music video, directed by Mathieu Danet.
Rifo prides himself on his ability to blend punk with classical, all within a dance track. On Romborama, he definitely shows his breadth with gothic, Motown-like (albeit, highly processed) vocals by Lisa Kekaula on “Talkin’ In My Sleep,” a toy instrument intro on “Storm” and lush violins on “Anacletus.” Rifo has said, “I’m changing the concept of what a club is”.
“It’s Better to DJ On 2 Turntables” has what sounds like a scrambled sports announcer over a heavy bed of static that feels like a rowdy crowd, and you can see why the Bloody Beetroots have been featured on the soundtracks for FIFA '09 and NBA 2K9. They're pounding and upbeat.
